eSDO Algorithms - AstroGrid Instructions

01 January 2008 Instructions for Remotely Deploying eSDO algorithms using the AstroGrid Workbench Task Launcher.

Access the AstroGrid Task Launcher

  1. Go to http://www2.astrogrid.org/science/getting-started/
  2. Either launch the Java Web Start Workbench or install the Workbench Java application.
  3. Follow instructions on the Getting Started web site to apply for an AstroGrid account.
  4. Once the Workbench is running and an account has been obtained, click the "Task Launcher" icon on the Workbench "Data Discovery" tab. ag_workbench.png

    • Task Launcher search: perturbation map generation or "Local Helioseismology Perturbation Map Generation"
    • Input:
      • DopplergramInputFile: http://msslxx.mssl.ucl.ac.uk:8080/eSDO/algorithms/SubsurfaceFlow/lat22.5Nlon142.5_start.fits (remote file reference; local, MySpace or URL fits file)
      • spatialResolution: 1.51815 (float)
      • step: 1 (integer)
      • annulusThickness: 3 (integer)
      • method: "Gabor" or "Gizon-Birch" (String)
      • lowPassFilter: "LP" or blank (String)
      • differenceFilter: "DF" or blank (String)
      • amplitudeModCorrection: "AC" or blank (String)
      • northSouth: "ns" or blank (String)
      • eastWest: "ew" or blank (String) (leave blank if "ns" is used above)
    • Output:
      • OutputFile: tt_IO_NOAA8038.fits (file reference; MySpace fits file)

    • Input:

      • method: Gabor (string, choice of "Gabor" or blank, optional)
      • lowPassFilter: LP (string, choice of "LP" or "LowPass", optional)
