Astrogrid

Description of Astrogrid:
Astrogrid is a 10M project aimed at building a data-grid for UK astronomy, which will form the UK contribution to a global Virtual Observatory. It is also one of several Grid projects in the UK's e-Science initiative - more information on these can be obtained from the National E-science Centre. Astrogrid is funded via the UK's Particle Physics & Astronomy Research Council(PPARC) and by the European Commision. The project was formally started on 2001 September 1, with the first phase ending Dec 2004, and the current extension to Dec 2007.

MSSL is one of several Institutes belonging to Astrogrid.

Astrogrid Workshop for MSSL

Your input to Astrogrid at MSSL:

We would like as much input as possible from MSSL scientists. Please go to More Input For MSSL Applications on the Grid and tell us if you can help:

  • Adding more solar, astronomical, and solar terrestrial physics data to Astrogrid searches
  • Making more data analysis tools that you run every day available to process data on the grid
  • Identifying new science cases that would help you find and process data faster: we can document these with a "How to" page
